#1810 SCHMEISSER, Kurt R. W8LZV, Born 12-18-10. First on air 1934. Went to High School in Hamburg, Germany then to Cass Tech in Detroit MI. Also attended Detroit City College took specialized courses at Univ. of Michigan. Was instructor for Signal Corps School and Training supervisor then to US Navy training school at Detroit as head of school (civilian) Before WWII he was studio broadcast engineer at WWJ, after WWII he was chief Engineer of KIA Labs. 1948 joined WXYZ, Television owner by ABC, after 27 1/2 years he retired on Jan 1 1976.
