Hello my name is Jason Balk of Monroe, MI

I am curious if the segments that Kelly & Company did while visiting the Sea World of Ohio park are still in the WXYZ vault? I am a former Sea World of Ohio visitor and annual pass holder along with my parents for 25 years during this park’s operation (1970-2001) I am pretty sure my Mom taped these segments on VHS when they originally aired but I was hoping to find them available on youtube to share with a Facebook page that I help moderate and preserve the memories of the park and keep them alive since the park closed for good in 2001. I hope to learn if these would be ever be available for viewing. Thank You,

I help manage this website and don’t have access to the WXYZ anymore after retiring. I can pass along your comment to one of the executive producers of the show who may have some thoughts. In the meantime, you may wish to contact the station directly at WXYZ Channel 7, 20777 W. Ten Mile Rd., Southfield, Michigan 48075, Main Telephone: 248-827-7777, Toll-Free Line: 1-800-825-0770, Television Programming: 248-827-9301. Hopefully others viewing this website might be able to help.

I’m looking for an episode I was in about nerds in high school and where are they now.
        Can you help

Do you have the exact date? Many of the shows are long gone unless copies were made at the time and given to guests. Some producers have personal copies of the shows they produced. We do have some relationships with some of the producers, but the exact date would be helpful.

      2. Do you know where I can find the episode on adult entertainers. I think it was late 80 s

Hi my name is Marcella Wilson and I was wondering if you all have remnants of the show in 1985 or 1986 which featured Lou Rawls. I was in the audience and asked him a question. I sure like to see that again. Oh by the way I was pregnant and Lou Rawls touched my belly. My daughter is 33 years old now. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately we do not have that segment in our archives. I will reach out to one of the producers who may have a personal copy.

Thank you. That would be fantastic.

  3. I’ve been looking a show recorded in 1992 or 1993. It was entitled Daughters who are like their mothers and my wife (then fiance) and MIL were interviewed

We are checking with the producers, but many of those aircheck tapes are gone except those held by specific individuals. These tapes are very hard to track unless somebody comes forward by seeing this.

    Hello
I’m looking for an episode that included discussion on the outburst of pit bull attacks in the city. My group rapped on the show.
Afterwards, producers asked if I would do a commercial for the show. I did. It was advertising an upcoming episode about divorce.
Would be pretty cool if recording is still accessible.
    Thank you

I’ll pass along your request to two “retired” producers of Kelly & Company. I’m not sure if they would have that episode or commercial in their personal archives. Then, of course, it would have to be transferred to a digital format. You may also want to contact the station directly by calling 248-827-7777 or mailing them at WXYZ Channel 7, 20777 W Ten Mile Rd., Southfield, Michigan 48075. The TV station usually has a service which maintains airchecks for a certain period of time which they may direct you to. The Broadcast Vault itself doesn’t maintain an archive of past shows. Good luck on this one and I hope my contacts “may” be able to help.

Stacy, unfortunately we don’t have the full archives of the Kelly & Company shows. Most of the shows and segments are probably still with the station itself. Try giving them a call at 248-827-7777. They also may refer you to another legacy archiving source. Sorry we could not help you further.

Terry, in the photo about field production, I believe the woman with the large glasses looking through the camera is Del Warner. Also, at the top of your article, you say “Ran from 1987 through 1995…”. I started working at WXYZ at 1983, and the show was already on the air at that time.

Thanks Steve. Great to hear from you. I love getting corrections and updates. It makes this alumni database a bit more accurate every time. I just received a real quick email from two other sources. The date both gave me as the start was 1978. I think I swapped the last two digits. Great catch. I just wasn’t sure about Del, but now I think I have confirmation. Del was a wonderful lady who cared so much for the community. This is now updated. Please keep sending updates or photos that you would like to share. Terry

I was in the audience for a show that had Jim Johnson (DJ) and George Baier (Dick the Bruiser) his co-DJ on WRIF. It was Dick the Bruiser Band singing 96 Tears. It was prior to 1980. Would love to purchase a copy if the tape were still available.

I am looking for an episode that featured a local hair salon that was doing hair makeover right on the set. I was one of the models. It aired around August, 1993. I’ve tried youtube and have come up with nothing. No worries if you can’t find anything. I was pregnant at the time and would love for my kids to see this.

It looks like a lot of people are looking of copies of episodes!

I’m curious if anyone has had success calling the station. I am also looking for video of a specific episode and I can’t believe that SOMEONE associated with the show hasn’t kept a copy as it was…a singular episode, lol.

In the Valentine’s Day episode in 89 or 90 (?) there was a contest for amateur male strippers. While one of the strippers was dancing he became, uhhhh, more excited about his work than the show was expecting! For years I’ve been telling the story of seeing this with my mom while sitting in the waiting room of a doctor’s office and I have seen no other references to it online or elsewhere beyond my VERY CLEAR memory of the event and the hilarious cutaway to the embarrassed hosts.

I will contact the station, but if you have connections with former producers or other staff during this period I would imagine THEY are the people who would have kept a copy…even if it is just to play it at reunions every once in a while for a laugh.

Is there a tape when Muhammad Ali was on the show? I believe it was in the early 70’s, I was one of the kids on stage with him.

      Terry Pochert

Rusty… at the moment, we maintain only a few archive tapes of the Kelly & Company show. We would recommend contacting the station directly at 248-827-7777. They will probably give you information about outside companies that are contracted to store much of their archived information. I wish we could be of more help. Terry Pochert, Editor.

  15. I was in the audience in 1978 and was extremely surprised to be called as the winner of a trip for four to Disney World. My two girls and I took the trip with my mom because my husband and I had recently separated. They also took a few videos while we were there. Would you have any of these videos?

    1. Terry Pochert Avatar
      Terry Pochert

We do not have archive tapes of the Kelly & Company shows. Calling the station directly “may” help. 248-827-7777. Many times they will refer you to an outside agency who may have copies.

Looking for the taping which occurred in late 78,79 or early 80’s where a light fixture in the studio audience “sparked and malfunctioned” … the cameras caught the action … we were in the audience directly under the fixtures !

    Thank you …

I was on the show between 1982 and 1993. Is there a way to search for segment tapes by guest name? I was on a segment featuring Mother who hid funny things from their children.. I spoke about my habit of eating half of the KFC bbq chicken nuggets before arriving home to my kids. It was a fun show.

    1. Terry Pochert Avatar
      Terry Pochert

Unfortunately we don’t have very many legacy recordings of those shows. You may wish to contact the station directly at 248-827-7777. They will probably direct you to a third party company which records airchecks for the station. Good luck. Terry Pochert, editor.

  19. Hi.
I’m looking for the episode when Dr. Kevorkian was a guest on the show. I’m guessing late 80s maybe early 1990. My grandfather was an audience member who spoke that day. It would be a heartwarming memory to watch again.
    Thank you,

  20. Hi! I’m a daughter of Gloria Pitzer, the Secret Recipes Detective. Mom was on Kelly & Company in October 1990 (not sure which day) and again on May 8, 1991. I’m trying to find a copy of either (or both) episodes. Can you help?

    1. Terry Pochert Avatar
      Terry Pochert

Sorry, but we personally can’t help. Posting this here may be read by some other users that may be able to help. Of course, contacting the station directly may help. Chances, though, of archives that far back are very slim. WXYZ may also recommend some third-party companies which “aircheck” many of their shows. Again, something from May 8, 1991, would probably come from some personal “stash” that somebody has sitting in their person library.

Laura, I produced your mother’s shows, many times. We adored her. And so did the audience. We would get calls for weeks each time she did the show. I’m sorry I don’t have tapes to help you with.
