Shortly after moving to Texas, she began working as the Assistant Business Manager at Houston’s ABC TV station, KTRK, where she worked until retirement at age 69, in December 2001. After retirement, Helen volunteered regularly at Memorial Hermann Hospital near her home in Katy. She enjoyed many friendships from her time working in the broadcast industry. Helen’s husband, Larry, died in 1998. Helen died unexpectedly in August 2018 at age 86, and is survived by her daughter, Linda, who also resides in Katy, Texas.
