The audience to the Kelly and Company show is always seated well before the actual airing. Once folks are seated, one of the producers or John and Marilyn themselves would come out about ten to fifteen minutes before the show to “prep” the audience. This usually involves explaining what will happen in the show, alerts the audience the cameras are always on, and then tells a few jokes and chats a bit to make the audience feel comfortable. Folks are encouraged to laugh, stretch, clap, etc. prior to the actual show.
