WXYZ: Hosted “Our Friend Harry” which aired from 1957 through 1959. WXYZ‘s morning show which aired Monday through Friday from 9:30a – 11:25a. Designed with mom and the kinds in mind. The program also featured Marv Welch, a longtime favorite of Detroit’s younger set. Also included on the show were Jean Loach, Dick Femmel (news), Marion Rivers (piano). A variety of fun, music, news, interviews, human-interest and some surprises.

After “Our Friend Harry”, he hosted “Fun House,” a Saturday morning game show for kids.

“Harry Jarkey, the longtime entertainer and comic who was best known for his run of shows at the old Wenona Beach Casino in Bay City, died on Sunday, June 1 [2014], in Palm Springs, California. He was 100 years old, two months shy of his 101st birthday.” 1
