WXYZ: TV Host of “Haney’s People.”

In Detroit, a show called Haney’s People with Negro Don Haney as host is aired over WXYZ-TV, but, explains a station spokesman: “In the strict sense of the term, Haney’s People is not ‘minority group programing [sic],’ since Don Haney functions as the host of the program and is, only incidentally, black. We think this is more important – and significant – than having a ‘segregated’ program, which is what ‘minority group programing [sic]’ tends to be.”
